Job Description

Main Duties Work with stakeholders to define a project vision, direction and scope. Define, plan, track, control and report-on the work required to deliver the project to time and budget using a recognised PM methodology. Provide structured management of Change Requests, Scope/Schedule/Cost/Quality, Project Risks, and Communications. Manage relationships with relevant project stakeholders within the Compliance business function and other technology teams. Work closely with offshore, onshore and vendor technology development teams to ensure delivery of technical solutions to scope, schedule, cost and quality. Where necessary, assist in the generation of functional and possibly technical specifications using a structured methodology. Design, manage, and oversee execution of all phases of testing. Experience Required : Previous experience of working as a project manager within the technology department of a financial services institution. Structured project management experience (planning, tracking, controlling, issue and risk management) using a recognised methodology. Business analysis (requirements gathering and validation, specification development, test design and execution) using structured methods or a recognised methodology. Experience of the full systems development life cycle, from project inception through to completion activities. Experience Preferred : Exposure to Operational Risk methodologies. Configuration, management, or development experience with the Openpages package. Experience implementing a large vendor system within an investment bank. Previous experience as a developer/technologist in the financial services industry, in an investment banking technology department. Technical Requirements: Sound knowledge of project management methodologies and technology product life cycles. Structured approach to change and risk management. Ability to manage substantial levels of project change (requirements, team, technology) while maintaining and achieving clear delivery targets. Strong data analysis skills. Ability to design and write test cases. Ability to validate business requirements and develop functional specifications. Strong understanding of technology concepts. Skills/Aptitude Preferred : Knowledge of the Operational Risk business. PMP or Prince-2 level qualification (or similar). Technical understanding of Oracle, SQL, Java, Hibernate, Apache Tomcat.
